Fairbanks Community Cooperative Market

A new effort that is growing in Fairbanks, Alaska:

Around the world people have found food coops to be a valuable alternative to the big corporate grocery stores. They provide a locally controlled outlet for local producers tosell their products from cabbages and carrots to lamb and lotions. The Tanana Valley has many local producers and many local consumers. The FCCM would be a market where you could buy locally produced food, organic produce, locally raised meat, eggs and other products. It would have cold storage for locally grown root crops and cabbage. It would be a place you could buy organic products and be dedicated to serving the needs of the members and the community….a place where you would feel good about shopping because you knew that the food was wholesome, local, organic and best of all, that you were a part of it and helped make it happen!
